SOPA Strike/Black Outs

Posted by Dosensuppen - January 18th, 2012

We all know it's happening now. We all know how the Internet is fighting back the SOPA (and PIPA) bills. It's letting the collected voices of Internet communities around the United States, perhaps even the globe, be heard through a number of major websites, and online businesses, such as Google, has shared their opinion of going against the bills.

This is a great, momentous time on the Internet. This is one that will even get a spot in the history books. Muscles of the Internet being flexed to stand ground and lead people to share their dismay of a bill that could very well threaten our way of life.

We are a generation. One large community, spread far and wide, but connected. We are neighbors. Everyone you meet on here is connected to you. The Newgrounder you love, the troll you hate, the Youtube star you envy,

The Internet speaks out. It does not want cesnored.

So, what do you think about the blackouts?

They're good, but I wasn't able to fap nor look up game guides. Sad face.

Make flash.

I miss reddit.

lol

Dude, so you don't remember the last few damn bills that have sought to censor the internet, or how everyone bitched back then?

DMCA, Pro-IP, ACTA, and now SOPA and PIPA. Come on, man, these things are starting to happen like clockwork. Momentous my ass. Hardly anyone remembers the "uproar" that the internet put-up when ACTA was all the rage.

DMCA passed and we're all still paying for it now. I think the blackouts are stupid (and would have been the most pathetic form of protest since the last videogame boycott had Wikipedia not stepped in) and I think this whole deal is stupid.

I think corporations are stupid. I think the internet is stupid. There's not a whole lot right now that isn't in possession of some damnable streak of stupidity.

But there's bondage lesbian pornography on the internet, so it's not all pissing on parades.

A lot of people bitched, but it wasn't as large of a protest as this.

With the black outs, I got a taste of what the internet would be like if it was censored. It was not good. I didnt like it. No sir.

Mission accomplished.
